BRENDAN DILLON

Brendan is the Principal of the practice. Having qualified as a solicitor in 1990 he set up the practice in 1993. He primarily advises owners / managers of small and medium sized businesses in relation to business law / company law matters as well as employment law and commercial litigation. He also has an extensive family law client base having advised clients in relation to separation and divorce matters for many years. He is an accredited Mediator and practices both as a Family Law and Civil and Commercial Mediator. He has also trained in the practice of Collaborative Law.

Brendan was Chairman of the Guidance and Ethics Committee of the Law Society for three years between 2013 and 2015. He is also a member of the Dublin Solicitor’s Bar Association, The Family Lawyers Association and the Irish Commercial Mediators Institute. He has advised on a range of sports related matters. He is a former President of the Dundrum Chamber of Commerce and a former Chairman of the F.A.I. League of Ireland.

Pauline joined the firm in April 2003. She has a degree in Business and Legal Studies and a post-graduate Diploma in Social Policy from University College, Dublin. Pauline has gained experience in a wide range of legal services and provides clients with advice on business law, employment, property, litigation, Wills and probate matters. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family and her interests include music, aerobics and walking.

Niall joined the firm in January 2017. He holds a Bachelor of Civil Law (BCL) obtained from NUI Galway and a Masters in Commercial Law (LLM) obtained from UCD. Niall qualified in 2011 and practises primarily in Litigation with particular emphasis on Medical Negligence, Personal Injuries and Employment Law, though also advises clients in a range of other areas to include Probate, Property and Commercial matters. Niall has a keen interest in all sports particularly GAA (in the Clare colours!), soccer, rugby and golf and is also a music fanatic.

Lorna joined the firm as a Solicitor in June 2015. Lorna obtained an Honours Degree in Law (LL.B) in 2010 and a Masters in Commercial Law (LL.M) from University College Dublin in 2012. In addition to working in Ireland, Lorna has also gained international experience having worked with a law firm in London. She primarily advises clients in all aspects of Property Law, Probate, Estate Planning and Family Law. Through her extensive experience she has developed the necessary skills and sensitivities required, particularly for the areas of Family Law and Probate. Lorna also has strong civil litigation experience and has been involved in highly contentious personal injuries cases. In her spare time she practices Karate and has represented Ireland at many international tournaments. In addition she enjoys hillwalking and is a keen rugby supporter.

Sean who studied law at DIT and the Law Society, qualified in 1995 and then established Gandon Law. He is also a qualified Notary, having being appointed by the Supreme Court on the 16th of March 2005.

Sean’s primary focus is in the area of commercial law particularly commercial property, to include purchase, sales and leasing, and he has significant interests both from a practical perspective and on a professional basis in the commercial property arena. He advises numerous large developers and commercial enterprises with regard to their property-related and general commercial endeavours.

He further stewards a large general practice, encompassing all areas of private client work.

Outside work he is a keen sportsman and fitness enthusiast, with a special interest in GAA, tennis, cycling, gym work and rowing.

Valerie Byrne joined the firm in May 2018.She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business and Legal Studies. She has experience in many areas of law to include family law, conveyancing, wills and probate, enduring powers of attorney and litigation. She is an irfu accredited minis rugby coach. She is a keen rugby supporter. She enjoys hillwalking and has a gra for animals.

Jane is the firm’s Office Manager. Her role is to ensure that all administrative structures in the office are in place as well as putting in place best practice processes for the smooth running of the office. Jane is a qualified accounting technician and a member of The Institute of Legal Accountants. She has worked in the accounting and bookkeeping sector for the last twenty years and brings a wealth of experience to Dillon Solicitors.

Michaela joined Dillon Solicitors in June 2014. She has a Higher National Diploma in Social Care and is working as our client service executive. She has a keen interest in law. Her role involves working with clients at front of house, organising the Solicitors’ diaries and being the friendly voice that greets clients when they contact the office. Her interests include going to the gym and baking.

Lynsey began working with Dillon Solicitors in July 2007. Lynsey qualified as a Legal Executive with a Diploma in Legal Studies in 2007 and subsequently obtained a degree in Irish Law from Griffith College in 2009. Maria moved from Murray Sweeney Solicitors with Brendan Dillon in 1993. She was responsible for setting up the office computer system, filing system, client data base etc. and generally assisting Brendan in the new firm. She re-joined back the firm after a few years away, during which time she completed a FETAC Level 5 Course in the Early Childhood Education and Development but always had an interest in Law. At the weekends Maria helps out with an Under 16 Girls Camogie Team and also assist in Fund raising for the Karate Club. She also enjoys

Siobhán joined Dillon Solicitors in August 2016. Siobhán obtained a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) from Maynooth University in 2014 and was conferred with the Barrister-at-Law Degree (BL) in 2015. She is also currently a PhD Candidate in Law at Maynooth University. Siobhán works with Brendan Dillon. Her interests include music, swimming and baking.
