The Law relating to the playing and administration of Sport has developed significantly in recent years. The reason for this is the greater propensity of participants to resort to their legal remedies if they feel an injustice has been done either on or off the field of play. Case Histories

The Firm advised a high profile Dublin School Boy Club in an application to UEFA for compensation for the training and development of one of their players who was signed by an English Premiership Club. The application resulted in the largest ever award at the time for compensation of this type by UEFA.

The Firm also represented a former Irish International in a landmark application to terminate his contract by reason of the non payment by his Club of his wages. The application was successful.

The Principal of the Firm Brendan Dillon has a long standing involvement in sport and has advised on a substantial number of sports related matters including ground breaking determinations. He was Secretary and General Manager of UCD Soccer Club for almost 20 years as well as being, for 15 years, an Officer of the Athletic Union Council in UCD which is the governing body for sport in UCD. He is also a former Chairman of the FAI National League and officer of the FAI.
